A photo of the office before Wilkinsons redesign. Formerly housing Silicon Graphics Inc., the building was completely gutted to implement his vision of a light-filled interior with a variety of flexible work settings.



Clive Wilkinson Architects proposal for the redesigned Googleplex included sketches illustrating fundamental features of the new interior. Chief among them is the use of a main street, a central pedestrian corridor lined by shared-use building blocks


and glass-walled workrooms along the perimeter.
